Ineffective Faith

By on February 8, 2015

You are going to get what with your faith???  I think that some people think that faith is some type of magic wand that is going to bring them their every desire.   Oh, I like those shoes!!!, I think I’ll use my faith to get me a pair.  Did you see her house? Girl, I’m going to use my faith and get me one too.  Look at that car!!! I’m going to use my faith to get me one!  We are living in a world where Satan is making a full blown attack on people everywhere.  He’s throwing punches of Depression, disease, poverty, mental issues, anger, killings, drugs, crime, terrorist attacks left and right, while the children of God sit back and use their faith to try to gain material things that will one day perish.  What really makes this crazy, is that we become angry with God when we feel our faith did not produce the desired results.  We have the nerves to question him-God I don’t understand. You blessed her with a house.  Why didn’t you bless me too God? I mean, I used my faith and everything and yet I didn’t get it.

Faith should not be viewed as a magical wand, if anything it should be viewed as an anchor.  During boisterous winds and waves the only thing that prevents a boat from drifting into the storm is the anchor.  The effects of the wind may cause some damage but the boat does not get lost in the storm because it is anchored in something greater than the storm.  This is what our faith does.  It keeps us grounded in God in the midst of life’s storms.  The devil is the storm, we are the ships, faith is the anchor and as long as our faith is grounded in God’s word, we will be able to stand against any storm that the devil brings into our life because our faith is anchored in God.  Our faith will hold us in place.

The body of Christ is drifting as a ship without an anchor because our focus is not God but rather what we can get from God.  We never lined up our will with the will of God.  We sought after material things instead of seeking ye first the kingdom.  Instead of speaking God’s word over our life we speak the things that we desire to have in our lives.  So when the storms of life hits, When the devil makes his attack, we have nothing to keep us grounded because we never developed true faith. When true faith has been cultivated the child of God will stand upon God’s word for every situation, circumstance, test, trial, or tribulation that comes their way.  No matter what it looks like or feel like they will not doubt God’s word and promises.  They will stand upon his word in the face of every opposition because their faith is grounded in God.

We all get weary and tired at times, and sometimes find it hard to stand in faith.  We may even get weak and mess up but the bible says in Proverb 24:16 “for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again…” So as long as we get back up, we are still acting in faith.  There is too much going on in the world to be limiting our faith to just obtaining material gain.  The devil could care less about the number of cars, houses or type of clothes you wear.  He wants you to doubt God’s word.  He wants you to not believe God.  His hope is that, if you don’t get the job, the marriage, the money, the house or the car that you so desire that you will begin to doubt God’s promises and seek after other means to gain these things.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.  1 Corinthians 15:57-58.  Our faith anchors us in God’s promises concerning healing so that no matter what the doctor say, we say what God say.  Our faith anchors us in God’s promises concerning deliverance, salvation, peace, provision, so no matter what it looks like, we still say what God’s word say, concerning these things.  We are not thrown about with every wind and doctrine because we have an anchor that has our spirit grounded to the word of God.  That anchor is our faith and because of this we are able to walk by faith and not by sight.

Once we see what true faith is we will no longer try to use it as a visa or mastercard.  The battle that we are in is not a game, it’s not a joke.  The devil wants to destroy you.  He wants you sick, he wants you crazy, he wants you depressed and even more so, he wants your soul.  The only thing that is going to stop him from slapping you around like some type of rag doll is your faith in the power of the words of God.  That’s why he does not want you to have faith in it.  If you think that the only purpose of faith is so that you can get you some stuff, then you just made the devil a happy devil.  Your faith is your weapon! Use it to fight against every strong hold, every trick, every plan, every trap that the enemy has set aside just for you.  You can win the battle, you can be victorious but it comes only by your faith in the word of God.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

Father God, I pray that all those who reads this message will be encouraged and strengthened to put full faith in your word.  Touch their eyes to see that life is not a game and that without faith in you we can not stand.  With every battle that we face help us not to bow. Help us not to doubt the sovereignty of your word. You alone are God and your word is true and it is power.  We thank you for your faithfulness, for you are a just God. We love you and we give you all praise, in Jesus name I pray. Amen

From my heart to yours, I ask that you please share this message. I know there is someone out there who needs to read it and please share a word of encouragement in the comment section below for other who read this post.  Thanks in advance!
