How often do we spend hours, even days worrying about things that may happen? The thought of tragedy or loss happening presents itself so real, that our bodies will even start responding to the thoughts. Our heart rate increase, loss of appetite, loss of sleep, mood changes, all over a thought that has not even come to past yet. A thought alone, can drive us into depression, make us feel inadequate, will cause us to stop trying and even cause some to commit suicide-All of this happening, because of a thought.
The “What if’s” in life will drain you physically, mentally and spiritually if you do not put God’s word back in remembrance. However the key to this is not just remembering God’s word, but believing and accepting God’s word as true. You have to believe that his word is the final word over your situation, it is the final answer to the questions in your life. We have to remember that if God said it, then it is going to happen. Why? Because his word cannot return to him void. We’re talking about God speaking, God’s power, God’s authority over your life and over everything that comes against you. Man may lie, but not God. It does not matter if you deserve it or not, it does not matter if your adequate or not, it does not matter if you messed up or not, the only thing that matter is that God said it, and if he said it, it shall come to pass. The bible says to meditate on His word, day in and day out. It may seem difficult to do this, in the middle of a trial, but we have to focus on his word. We have to hear what his word is saying, we have to seek the Holy Spirit to give us revelation and ask him to make God’s word alive to us. Ask the Holy Spirit for understanding, ask him to make it clear to you, ask him to make it plain to you, and he will show you exactly what God’s word is saying concerning your situation. Hear what God’s word is saying and the next time negative thoughts, fear or worry tries to attack you tell the Devil “but God said….and his word shall not return to him void!!”.
The bible says in 2 Chronicles 20:6 …“Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.” No one can withstand God, no one can come against his plan. No one can stop what he has instored for you, no one can close doors that he has open, no one can say no, when God has said yes-No one. We have to remember that the word of God is not just mere man’s word, but they are words that are full of power and might. They are words that causes action to take place. The words of God are sent out on assignment to accomplish the things that he has spoken. With his word we find life, with his word we find strength, with his word we move mountains. We have to focus on God’s word, more so than anything else. Our worries presents itself as real but we must remember that only what God said is real, and that only what God say’s matters.
Who can stand against the Lord your God? Who can change his mind? Who has more power than he? NO ONE. Every thought that comes against you, every thought that causes you to fear or to worry combat it with the word of God.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
