So, You’re going to use faith in God to get what?
I think that some people think that faith is some type of magic wand that is going to bring them their every desire.
I’ve heard people say things like
Oh, I like those shoes!!!, I think I’ll use my faith to get me a pair.”
“Did you see her house? Girl, I’m going to use my faith and get me one too.”
“Look at that car!!! I’m going to use my faith to get me one!”
We are living in a world where Satan is making a full-blown attack on people everywhere. He’s throwing punches of Depression, disease, poverty, mental illness, anger, killings, drugs, crime, terrorist attacks left and right while the children of God sit back and try to use their faith to only gain material things, that will one day perish. Something is most definitely wrong with this.
What really makes this crazy, is that we become angry with God when we feel our faith did not produce the desired results.
We have the nerves to question him-God I don’t understand. You blessed her with a house. Why didn’t you bless me too God? I mean, I used my faith and everything and I didn’t get anything!
Faith should not be viewed as a magic wand. If anything, it should be viewed as an anchor. During boisterous winds and waves, the only thing that prevents a boat from drifting into the storm is the anchor.
The effects of the wind may cause some damage but the boat does not get lost in the storm because it is anchored in something greater than the storm. This is what our faith does.
It keeps us anchored in the Lord in the midst of life’s storms.
The devil is the storm, we are the boats, faith is the anchor and as long as our faith is grounded in God’s word, we will not drift. Our faith is anchored in something greater than the storm. Our faith is anchored in God and because of this our faith will keep us in place.
The body of Christ is drifting like a boat without an anchor because our focus is not on God but rather on what we can get from God.
For some of us, we never lined up our will with the will of God.
We sought after material things instead of seeking first the kingdom of God. Instead of speaking God’s word over our lives, we speak the things that we desire to have in our lives. So when the storms of life hit, we have nothing to keep us grounded because we never developed true faith.
When true faith has been cultivated, the child of God will stand upon God’s word for every situation, circumstance, test, trial, or tribulation that comes their way. No matter what it looks like or feels like they will not doubt God’s word and promises.
They will stand upon his word in the face of every opposition because their faith is grounded in God.
There is too much going on in the world to be limiting our faith to just obtaining material gain.
The devil could care less about the number of cars, houses or type of clothes you wear. He wants you to doubt God’s word.
He does not want you to believe in God because he knows without faith you can not last.
His hope is that, if you don’t get the job, the marriage, the money, the house or the car that you so desire that you will begin to doubt God’s promises and seek after other means to gain these things.
Our faith anchors us in God’s promises concerning deliverance, healing, salvation, peace, provision, so no matter what it looks like, we will still say what God’s word says, concerning these things.
We are not thrown about with every wind and doctrine because we have an anchor that has our spirit grounded in the word of God. That anchor is our faith and because of this, we are able to walk by faith and not by sight.
Once we see what true faith is we will no longer try to use it as a visa or MasterCard.
The battle that we are in is not a game, it’s not a joke.
The devil wants to destroy you. He wants you sick, he wants you crazy, he wants you depressed and even more so, he wants your soul.
The only thing that is going to stop him from slapping you around like some type of rag doll is your faith in the power of the words of God.
That’s why he does not want you to have faith in God.
If you think that the only purpose of faith is so you can go and get you some stuff, then you just made the devil a happy devil.
In the post Titled “Hebrew Roots/The original foundation/Faith” the author states this about faith:
“It is the act whereby a person lays hold of God’s resources, becomes obedient to what He has prescribed and putting aside all self interest and self-reliance, trusts Him completely.
It is an unqualified surrender of the whole of one’s being in dependence upon Him. It is wholly trusting and relying upon Him for all things.
It is not just mental assent to the facts and realities of truth, it must come from a deep inner conviction. – the demons also believe – James 2:19“
Faith shows God that we are fully persuaded in trusting him. This Pleases God!
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
Faith causes God to move on our behalf. This is when God opens the closed doors. This is when he makes the pathway straight. Because of faith in him.
When we are Fully persuaded NOTHING will keep us from taking God at his word.
An Example of this is Abraham, the Bible says he was fully Persuaded. Romans 4:20-25
20yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God,
21and being fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.
22Therefore IT WAS ALSO CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
23Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him,
24but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,
25He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification. Romans 4:20-25
Use it to fight against every stronghold, every trick, every plan, every trap that the enemy has set aside just for you. You can win the battle, you can be victorious but it comes only by your faith in the word of God.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Father God, I pray that all those who read this message will be encouraged and strengthened to put full faith in your word.
Lord, we know that life is not a game, without faith in you we can not stand. But today we decree and we declare that our soul is anchored in you and we will not be moved. With every battle, we will not bow down because our faith is steadfast trusting in you.
We stand strong in the faith depending on you and trusting you to see us through.
You alone are God, your word is true and it’s powerful. Thank you for your faithfulness. We praise you because you fulfill every word that you have spoken. We love you and we will forever lift your name up, in Jesus name I pray.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
From my heart to yours, I ask that you please share this message. I know there is someone out there who needs to read it and please share a word of encouragement in the comment section below for other who read this post. Thanks in advance!
