Daily Devotional | Who Can Stand Against The Lord Our God?

The Words of God

The words of God are true, living and powerful yet in the time of trouble we often forget the authority that is in his words.

How often do we spend hours, even days worrying about things that may happen?  Our thoughts can become so intense, that our bodies will even start responding to the thoughts.  Our heart rate increase, loss of appetite, loss of sleep, mood changes, all over a thought that may not ever even come into reality.

It will cause us to forget the words of God. Thoughts alone, can drive us into depression, make us feel inadequate, will cause us to stop trying and even cause some to commit suicide-All of this happening, because of a thought.

When we allow these negative and painful thoughts to get to us before we know it we will find ourselves backing away from worshipping and praising God. It will cause our prayers to feel useless and we will find ourselves backing away from seeking God. This is what happened to me until God placed a special word in my spiriting regarding prayer.

Put God’s Word Back Into Remembrance.

The “What if’s” in life will drain you physically, mentally and spiritually if you do not put God’s word back in remembrance.  However, the key to this is not just remembering God’s word, but believing and accepting God’s word as true for your life. There are things that God wants you to know when you are tired of waiting on him or when it seems like the troubles of life just won’t go away. You have to believe that his word is the final word over your situation, it is the final answer to the questions in your life.  We have to remember that if God said it, then it is going to happen.  Why? Because the words of God cannot return to him void.

We’re talking about God speaking, God’s power, God’s authority over your life and over everything that comes against you.  Man may lie, but not God.  It does not matter if you deserve it or not, it does not matter if your adequate or not, it does not matter if you’ve messed up or not, the only thing that matters is that God said it, and if he said it, that settles it.

Meditate on God’s Word

The bible says to meditate on His word, day in and day out.  It may seem difficult to do this in the middle of a trial, but if we are going to come out God’s way, we have to focus on his word.

You have to believe that God's word is the final word over your situation, it is the final answer to the questions in your life. Click To Tweet

Faith Cometh By Hearing

We have to hear what his word is saying, we have to seek the Holy Spirit to give us revelation and ask him to make God’s word alive to us.  Ask the Holy Spirit for understanding, ask him to make it clear to you, ask him to make it plain to you, and he will show you exactly what God’s word is saying concerning your situation.  Hear what God’s word is saying and the next time negative thoughts, fear or worry tries to attack you tell the Devil “but God said….and his word shall not return to him void!!”.

The bible says in 2 Chronicles 20:6 …Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations.  Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.” No one can withstand God, no one can come against his plan. No one can stop what he has in stored for you, no one can close doors that he has open, no one can say no, when God has said yes-No one.

We have to remember that the word of God is not just mere man’s word, but they are words that are full of power and might.  They are words that causes action to take place.  The words of God are sent out on assignment to accomplish the things that he has spoken.  With his word we find life, with his word we find strength, with his word we move mountains.  We have to focus on God’s word, more so than anything else.  Our worries presents itself as real but we must remember that only what God said is real, and that only what God say’s matters.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

This morning,I woke dreaming about Victory belongs to Jesus and a search for a scripture reference brought me also. Thank you Jesus for leading me here and reminding me that whatever situation we face and no matter how the enemy tries to get us to focus on our problems, we know that God is greater than every issue, and because of Jesus, we have the victory.

He knows MY name! Knowing that God is love was not the same as knowing God loves ME, personally, and for real!
